Canmore. Peaceful Mountain Living.

Canmore exudes small town charm. With 16,000 local residents and a bustling tourist industry, it offers all the great amenities and attractions of a large resort.

There's a little bit of everything here: eclectic shops, fantastic restaurants, a thriving business community, and all the day-to-day conveniences desired. With a year-round calendar of exciting community events, and of course, a full array of outdoor adventure possibilities, Canmore is a world-class global destination.

Between the months of November and April, Canmore is truly a winter wonderland. The powder covered slopes of Sunshine Village, Lake Louise, Norquay and Nakiska welcome downhill disciples from all over the globe. Fans of cross-country skiing delight in 70 kilometres of expertly groomed trails at the Canmore Nordic Centre. If you prefer to explore on your own, a wealth of backcountry trails are found just outside town limits. For the ultra-adventurers who prefer to explore on their own, backcountry/heli skiing, snowshoing and ice climbing routes abound.

When the weather turns warm, the valley transforms into a lush green haven brimming with new activities. There's superb golfing: the breathtaking courses of Stewart Creek, SilverTip, Canmore's Golf & Curling Club, Kananaskis and Banff Springs are all close by. There is fantastic fly-fishing (the legendary Bow River and its bull trout residences flow right through-town) and there is absolutely no end to the hiking, climbing and biking possibilities.

Canmore is an idyllic mountain community that strikes the perfect balance between relaxed living and thrilling adventure.
